Apr 27, 2018Mr. Smith was retired from the U.S. Army and served in the Green Berets. He had a Doctorate Degree in Economics and taught in Fayetteville. He also had worked as a civilian servant on Fort Bragg. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his wife, Emi Smith, and a daughter, Jane Emma Smith.A graveside funeral and interment service with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Riverview Memorial Gardens in Spring Lake. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10-10:45 a.m. before the service at Adcock Funeral Home in Spring Lake.Surviving are sisters, Kathryn Smith of Mesa, Arizona and Lois Lewis of Green River, Wyoming; and a brother, Bill Smith of Dallas, Texas.SUSAN ELIZABETH DAVIS CROOKSBUIES CREEK — Susan Elizabeth Davis Crooks of Buies Creek died Wednesday (4/25/18).In lieu of flowers, donations in Susan’s memory and honor may be made to The Susan Davis Crooks and John Thomas Crooks Law Fund, Campbell University; the Memorial Baptist Church of Buies Creek, debt retirement; or the Harnett County Democratic Party.A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Memorial Baptist Church in Buies Creek with the Rev.
